One that lands in heavy rotation, building up steam and momentum with each listen. You may like or even love other albums, but the magical ones like this are few and far between. Music so good you can&#8217;t stop listening to it and feel the need to tell everyone you know about it. CDs that make you think &#8220;Where the hell have I been?&#8221; upon discovering that it has existed for months or years without your knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Amazon.com - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B00005YXZH\/?tag=timelpersu-20\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Yankee Hotel Foxtrot<\/em><\/a> is an easy example from recent memory.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Amazon.com - Skittish\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0006FO8SO\/?tag=timelpersu-20\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Skittish<\/em><\/a> meets this criteria too. It was (and still is) my favorite album of all time.<\/p>\n<p>Before that it was probably <a title=\"Amazon.com - Slanted and Enchanted\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B00006JLX4\/?tag=timelpersu-20\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Slanted and Enchanted<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Before that it was <a title=\"Amazon.com - Nevermind\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B000003TA4\/?tag=timelpersu-20\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Nevermind<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today? It&#8217;s <a title=\"Amazon.com - A Love Extreme\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B001AJIWQ4\/?tag=timelpersu-20\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>A Love Extreme<\/em><\/a> by Benji Hughes.<\/p>\n<p>Check this out. A little bit Beck, a little Joseph Arthur, but at the same time a whole lot of original.<\/p>\n<p>Anachronistic as it is, I can&#8217;t help but reference the lyrical gold that might have found its way into <em>Timely Persuasion<\/em> had this album been around a few years ago.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A woman lives in your brain, singing to you all of the time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m into Pavement their my favorite band I&#8217;ve got their DVD I watch it 50 times&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;ve got it made because you&#8217;re made so well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why do these parties always end the same way?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just like really awesome candy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I got there at 4:53.
