Almost every trope in the <em>TP <\/em>universe gets up on a familiar stage for a final curtain call. Local Boy playing a coffee shop open mic night, Jimmy&#8217;s sharkskin jacket, the whole Nelson family, songs stolen from the future, Harry Chapin, the Redhead, and of course &#8220;Won One&#8221; for good measure. Coincidence?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>I Took Off To Find the Tidbits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;It was a little bit funny&#8221; is a nod to a recurring line in the new <em><a href=\"https:\/\/quantumleap-alsplace.com\/quantum2\/episodeguide\/\">Quantum Leap<\/a><\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ricky Nelson <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/tcj5nWHn6AQ?si=syUZc7QjXsbfB1pF&amp;t=203\">playing drums<\/a> really did inspire Cousin Jimmy the Drummer (CJTD?).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0ouMaLRth-s\">A Fifth of Beethoven<\/a>&#8221; was released as a single on May 29, 1976 and reached #1 after nineteen weeks, which would be around October 9th\u2014a month before this chapter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1tqxzWdKKu8\">Dueling Banjos<\/a>&#8221; was popularized a few years earlier via the film <em>Deliverance<\/em>. Local Boy was remiss in not acknowledging the great Arthur Smith as the writer.<sup data-fn=\"11b21b78-a575-48a9-b4c7-8f92ba93d03e\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#11b21b78-a575-48a9-b4c7-8f92ba93d03e\" id=\"11b21b78-a575-48a9-b4c7-8f92ba93d03e-link\">1<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cFootlights were a few originals that could use better lyrics\u201d<\/em> is a very JLCivian callback to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lm-gasyPEQw\">Taxi<\/a>&#8221; two paragraphs prior.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local Boy&#8217;s revelation that <em>&#8220;This song belongs to everyone now&#8221;<\/em> regarding &#8220;Won One&#8221; sets up the ending we&#8217;re barreling towards. He doesn&#8217;t understand what it means and says it just <em>&#8220;popped into his head&#8221;<\/em>\u2014not unlike how some words popped into his head way back in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/lbdg-commentary-1-october-1969\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3033\">first chapter<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s like she read my mind, since red was on my mind&#8221;<\/em> should&#8217;ve been a lyric. But was she <em>on<\/em> his mind, or <em>in<\/em> his mind?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bonus: Neither Local Boy nor I could come up with LBJ themed parody lyrics to &#8220;Johnny B. Goode,&#8221; so I asked ChatGPT to give it a whirl for fun:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;<em>Lyndon B. Goode<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;<br><em>(To the tune of \u201cJohnny B.
