Even the skipped over stuff got segued with a summary. Over the years I&#8217;ve made it a point to cure myself of those old <em>&#8220;and then, and then, and then&#8221;<\/em> tendencies. Here we get a full year of a time jump disguised as an <em>and then<\/em> next morning. Sometimes you have to embrace your old tendencies while breaking free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>And then there were tidbits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I spent way too much time agonizing over whether or not &#8220;Scooby-Dooby-Doo&#8221; had one hyphen or two. Also, originally this title was just &#8220;Scooby-Doo, Where Were You!&#8221; like the TV show but I had trouble formatting the line wrap on the paperback to not have a single dangling word. My solution was to add the dooby. (It was intentional to end on a question mark vs. an exclamation point. The show title is exclamatory, but really shouldn&#8217;t be grammatically.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Musical fun fact: &#8220;Scooby-Dooby-Doo&#8221; was inspired by the way Frank Sinatra scats <em>doo-be-doo-be -doo<\/em> at the end of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Fd_3EkGr0-4\">Strangers in the Night<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Art imitates life as the narrator ponders the same type of sabbatical the author sometimes takes from his jobs. They always go by so fast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local Boy&#8217;s sleeping position is an homage to how Marty wakes up towards the end of <em>Back to the Future.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tumblr_9bf809b8f9e4d0dec0b0fbc015797bf3_a5b7b75c_540.gif?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tumblr_9bf809b8f9e4d0dec0b0fbc015797bf3_a5b7b75c_540.gif?resize=540%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3141\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Timely Persuasion<\/em> had Local Boy using AWAB as a very different acronym. 16 years later I tried to make amends with it via different\/better usage here setting up him calling out the old usage later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It took all of my self control to not have Local Boy say he &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YgSPaXgAdzE\">killed the headlights and put it in neutral<\/a>&#8221; when turning off the tractor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Barnstormer was built in Local Boy&#8217;s backyard after he became a star in the TP1 timeline. Then a record store also replaced his parent&#8217;s house. Now the Barnstormer is still built but the house remains. The bit about Jimi Hendrix <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimihendrix.com\/editorial\/hey-hey-were-the-experience\/\">opening for The Monkees<\/a> on tour is also true.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The second season of Scooby really did change the theme song singer and added a musical element to every episode.
