I always knew I wanted to mirror the opening of the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/?p=2092\">I Am You, You Are Me, We Are One<\/a>&#8221; sequence here, but doing the fuller suited celebrity d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00a0vu took awhile to figure out.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Replacing the two men with two coyotes was the obvious starting point. So was making the room black instead of white. The abrupt screeching sound at the end of this track before the next song starts inspired the running on a record reveal and reinforced the color selection\u2014but it was a goof. The screeching noise ends &#8220;Cornfields&#8221; not &#8220;Coyotes.&#8221; Oops!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the first few drafts this was a Benji\/Heartman centric dream. Switching to Songstress\/L centric opened the door to convert the white suits to wolf suits and to run (pun intended) with the James Bond theme song theme.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other tidbits:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>This &#8220;dream\u009d&#8221; (if we&#8217;re still using that word) takes place inside the SAL door across the hall from the door marked MON used in the opener. The two men\/two animals are intended to be the same two entities. Can you guess who?<\/li>\r\n<li>Animals reference the song title &#8220;Coyotes&#8221; and also the album <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2016\/01\/20\/463734804\/first-listen-benji-hughes-songs-in-the-key-of-animals\"><em>Songs in the Key of Animals<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Go, Go! GO! is a very subtle reference to my favorite children&#8217;s book, <em>Go, Dog. Go!<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_2479\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2479\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsfromme.com\/2015\/01\/09\/name-game-3\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2479\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ethelbertpanel.jpg?resize=300%2C206&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ethelbertpanel.jpg?resize=300%2C206&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ethelbertpanel.jpg?w=437&amp;ssl=1 437w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2479\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">From &#8220;The Greatest of E&#8217;s&#8221; comic book story by Mark Evanier. Official? You decide.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\nEthelbert is the little known middle name of Wile E. Coyote. Jessica &amp; L would know that. I dug the single letter aspect, ala C &amp; L. It&#8217;s also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsfromme.com\/2015\/01\/09\/name-game-3\/\">debatable whether or not the name is canon<\/a>, raising the question of whether or not <a href=\"https:\/\/books2read.com\/lx\"><em>L Extreme<\/em> the novel<\/a> represents canonical further adventures of Evilon &amp; Chocolon from <em>LILILIL<\/em>.<\/li>\r\n<li>The POV is intentionally drifting between Benji, the narrator, and L as the Lon magic of the door does its thing, becoming more firmly L by the end.<\/li>\r\n<li>It&#8217;s true Glenn Frey from The Eagles sings on &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/1SWmFiFSIBoDbQJjNKC7SR?si=f33194c639014506\">Against the Wind&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0and Joe Walsh has a song called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/5TvsIgp7JxMDqXZrMvSXrg?si=d4a1c5a1511f4717\">Coyote Love<\/a>.&#8221; Once again, the book writes itself.<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_2480\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2480\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PV7h55ha52E\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2480\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/connery_daf_blood.jpg?resize=300%2C131&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/connery_daf_blood.jpg?resize=300%2C131&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.timelypersuasion.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/connery_daf_blood.jpg?w=650&amp;ssl=1 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;A full moon zips across the horizon. Or maybe I&#8217;m the one zipping by. Before I can determine which it is, a shot rings out and the moon turns red. The music stops.&#8221;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\nEach peep in wolf&#8217;s clothing performed a James Bond theme, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/movies\/james-bond-every-theme-song\/\">listed in rough order<\/a>. Burt Bacharach technically shouldn&#8217;t be here since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NJbVzpEgWn0\">his score<\/a> appears in the spoofy\/unofficial\u00a0<em>Casino Royale<\/em> film, but since he has an unreleased co-write with Benji Hughes I included him here. Same with Alice Cooper, who had a <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/alice-cooper-man-with-golden-gun\/\">rejected James Bond theme<\/a> but retains a shoutout as <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/62X1b2I5mZkm6AceyaB9Ui?si=ad19f324f9d3428a\">a Hughes collaborator<\/a>. Otherwise, I mostly kept the female musicians (Bond girls?) in this set of ladies on parade.<\/li>\r\n<li>Although it may seem out of nowhere, the precedent\/inspiration came from a story on how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfexaminer.com\/entertainment\/benji-hughes-enjoys-the-commercial-life\/\">Benji&#8217;s first attempt at jingle writing<\/a> was a Bond themed razor ad. (He didn&#8217;t get the gig.)<\/li>\r\n<li>&#8220;Not knowing a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>song stress<\/em><\/span>es me out&#8221; originally appeared in the opening chapter, but I moved it here as a complement to &#8220;You&#8217;ve got <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>heart, man<\/em><\/span><em>&#8220;<\/em>\u00a0hinting at who is dreaming.<\/li>\r\n<li>Is the conductor Monty Norman or John Barry?
